Just to let those of you who know I am on holiday in Hawaii that all is well. We were evacuated for four hours but fortunately the tsunami has turned out to be a non-event, at least for those in Hawaii.
At the same time, my thoughts are with all my friends in Chile, particularly Jorge Valenzuela, Edmundo, and Angelica Rojas at UTEM in Santiago – I hope they and their families, colleagues and friends are all safe and well.
We return to Vancouver next Wednesday – we have families of Olympic athletes staying in our house while we are away.
