Not sure whether this checklist originated with Bovard or if it has come from the Sloan Consortium http://sloanconsortium.org/Web_2.0_Selection_Criteria_Save_Time_Choosing_an_Appropriate_Tool
Hi Debbie,
Yep, I have to take sole responsibility for that particular piece of work – for better or worse 🙂 Since my original posting of it on my (no-longer-updated) blog http://tektrek.wordpress.com/2009/03/02/web-20-selection-criteria/ I have given more thought to the selection criteria – mostly because I realize I made some huge assumptions. Specifically, I assumed folks would also review the tool based on quality teaching measures. Recently, in a workshop, I suggested that perhaps a decent review involves 3 steps: 1) determine how well the tools supports the learning objective(s), 2) use the web 2.0 criteria to narrow the field and 3) use one of the quality ed criteria lists (e.g. the 7 Principles: Technology as Lever or the Community of Inquiry Interactions model).
Any thoughts would be appreciated and welcomed!!
