With the price range from $0 to $0, you can choose from quick and dirty (fewer requirements) all the way to slick and sleek (downloads required).  Dwayne Harapniuk, Manager, Educational Technology, Lethbridge College, and Bill Fricker, president, Bonne Journee Strategies (retired from NAIT) will discuss and demonstrate numerous tools ready for use – by you, colleagues, and/or students.

Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and some others have captured a lot of critical mass.  But, hiding-in-plain-sight is a smorgasbord of tools ready to enhance education.

Some questions to address-
How might you harness these technologies?
Will it be easier not needing to raise budget money for acquisition?
Would applications that serve you but don’t reside on school servers be a breath of fresh air to your IT experts?
What will telephone companies, video conference equipment manufacturers, web conference systems sales groups, and others do with the dramatic rise in the threshold?
Can some unused institutional facilities see use if free media stimulate the demand?

Our February 18, 2009 session will provide you with several live links, some screen captures, and web tours.  We will use Elluminate for the main session, concluding in about 45 minutes and then take one or more trips into some of the free online conferencing sites.
