Today a new section of this web site opened, focusing on resources about virtual worlds and games for learning.
This is being developed in collaboration with Natasha Boskic, of the University of British Columbia, who has collected an excellent range of resources on this topic. More resources will be added to this section on a regular basis.
This is the first of a series of collaborations where colleagues with specialist interests will take responsibility for managing sections of the site. I am expecting to add specialist sections on quality, open educational resources, and Web 2.0, all managed by colleagues. If you are interested in helping develop a section on resources for a specialist area of e-learning (for instance if you are doing a Ph.D. on this topic) and would like to manage this area, please contact me at tony.bates@ubc.ca
Dr. Tony Bates is the author of eleven books in the field of online learning and distance education. He has provided consulting services specializing in training in the planning and management of online learning and distance education, working with over 40 organizations in 25 countries. Tony is a Research Associate with Contact North | Contact Nord, Ontario’s Distance Education & Training Network.
